How to do the Most Important Things in Life -- How to Prosper in Every Area

(Directed by the Lord Jesus, Prov 3:6; Col 3:17)

  1. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. (Proverbs 28:27)

According to The Bible, giving to the poor has many advantages. It is one way to ensure that we never lack. Even if you are unemployed, and have no visible means of support, you will never lack if you give to the poor. There was a time when I was unemployed and had no regular income. Yet I was still able to help the poor. People gave me little jobs to do for them and they paid me. My mother used to slip money into my pocket or into my hand. My wife was a self-employed garden designer. She used to charge her more distant clients a fee for traveling. She let me drive her in my car and she gave me the traveling fee. My income was small and irregular, yet it was always enough to help the poor and for my own needs.

2. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. (Psalm 41:1-3)

There are many advantages in considering the poor. The LORD will deliver you in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve you and keep you alive. You will be blessed upon the earth. You will not be delivered unto the will of your enemies. The LORD will strengthen you and make all your bed when you are sick.

    1. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work. – (II Cor 9:6-8)

Therefore, if you wish to prosper and never lack, give to the poor. Your success is guaranteed by the word of God.
